Report on Return to San Antonio

It is significant that God gave us the word "return" to describe the year 2011. My first engagement of the year was the weekend of January 8 and 9, in San Antonio, Texas at Castle Hills First Baptist Church. It was out of sight, heavenly and God-touched. You may remember that it was at Castle Hills that God moved so gloriously in the early 70's, ushering several thousand people into the Kingdom and launching many of us on a journey of discovering the Spirit-filled life. It was quite a return!

Thanks for your prayers. Many people are still in the church that were there 41 years ago when God touched down and many more came from other places that were a part of the1970 phenomenon.

The current pastor was blessed by my first book, The Key to Triumphant Living at the beginning of his ministry and holds the happenings of the revival in the seventies very credible. He really wants God to visit again in that capacity. The old timers said they had not seen anything like it since the seventies!

The church had arranged a reception on Saturday evening before I preached, a Q & A after I preached on Sunday evening, as well as a Sunday morning service. A great weekend! A God-visited breakfast with board members and old friends on Monday crowned the week. A providential delay because of snow and ice in Atlanta enabled more strategic visits. A two hour prayer and dialogue on Wednesday with the pastor's prayer group was special and a vital visit with the pastor followed.

Among the thrills was an appointment arranged beforehand for a brief visit with my very first secretary in San Antonio when I first came to the city more than fifty years ago.

A huge residual component is that the pastor has given an invitation to me to mentor him, visit the church at intervals and input as seems viable. Unusual to say the least, after 37 years (I resigned in 1974). So, as someone commented, "An effectual door has opened." Pray for me that I may know how to respond to this open door with wisdom, integrity and anointing.

Again, for you who knew beforehand, thanks for your prayers; now we need ongoing prayers from you all as we walk through this open door!

Singing in the Reign,

Bro. Jack

It was more than worth the drive from Houston to see and hear you that Sunday morning. God's presence was palpable. Thank you two for your continued steadfastness to the King and the gospel of His Kingdom! We love you, Eddie (and Alice) Smith
